Introduction
IMS are integration experts having initially cut our teeth on connecting the majority of South African labs to doctors during the mid nineties. In 2008 we became IHE (https://www.ihe.net/) experts adding DICOM to our HL7 and XML skills. By 2015 we had connected more than 250 ICU's with all the labs in Southern Africa as well as 72 large acute care hospitals. During the Covid pandemic the National Department of Health (nDOH) contracted IMS to provide the middleware connecting all labs to the nDOH. Every Covid test done in South Africa was moved through Bluebird. We also set up and connected more than 500 public hospitals.

Not only are we able to actively manage the process, we can do this at a massive scale!Hospitals that wish to enable any of the Bluebird EHR modules need to send both their ADT and pharmacy data into their Bluebird EHR Cloud. They have two options to accomplish this:
1. Hl7 messages produced by their Hospital Information System (HIS)
2. Using Bluebird’s HL7 generator - see intelms.com/896

If your hospital information system is unable to send HL7 messages please follow page 4 and 5 in the document above but then review intelms.com/896 and ask us to provide the Bluebird HL7 Generator for your hospital. This service will create the required HL7 messages from 4 Views of your database, Views which your hospital IT department should be able to set up in less than 8 hours. -

Bluebird provides an API (see Intelms.com/930) that allows Third Party Practice Management Systems to update the Bluebird Clinical EHR with changes in patient demographics, in real time.
